GOD’S WILL IS NO CONCERN OF THIS CONGRESS
This above was spoken by Democrat representative Jerry Nadler recently in response to a Republican house member from the state of Florida.
The Florida representative had read from the Bible arguing for the biological differences in men and women. He spoke of the God given order concerning genders. Then he quoted one biblical commentary, “Whenever a nation’s laws no longer reflect the standards of God, that nation is in rebellion against Him, and will inevitably bear the consequences.”
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) brazenly responded: “Mr. Steube, what any religious tradition de-scribes as God’s will is no concern of this Congress.”
It is quite obvious to those who, know the Bible and keep up with politics, that precious few of either party care one way or the other as to what God has said on any subject.
While Nadler more than likely does represent the majority of politicians, he is still a foolish and blind guide (Matt. 15:14).
You cannot ignore God and still have “good” governance. All goodness comes from godliness (ultimately God). So when one chooses to ignore the rule of God (His word being the vehicle of dis-semination of such law—John 12:28; 2 Tim. 2:15; 3:16,17; 2 Pet. 1:3, et.al); they are only left with darkness.
Proverbs 14:34, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” This pas-sage is pretty clear. When any country forgets God they will decay and their demise is imminent. From Egypt to the Summaria; from Babylon to Persian; from Greece to Rome; from Rome to the Ottomans; from Britain and France; from Spain to Russia…. Wickedness and national health cannot co-exists.
Jeremiah 10:23, “O Lord I know it is not in man that walketh to direct his own steps.” When Nadler and his stripe refuse to allow God to direct (or at least have influence on their “steps”) then “the way of man” is all that is left.
Man’s ways are greed, anger, violence, theft, resentment, poverty, rape, murder, subjugation, enslavement, revenge, spitefulness, starvation, torture, callousness and truly any other work of the flesh you can think of (Gal. 5:19-21).
The world without the influence of God is a dark and bleak place. Our world is full of countries that are ruled by tyranny and oppression and the first step in this direction is the attitude that says, “God’s Will is no Concern of this Congress.”
God’s will is of ultimate concern to all Christians (Luke 6:46; John 8:32). Only God’s way is the Light (John 14:6). Only God’s way is true (John 17:17); Only God’s word is truly fair and free of prejudice and pollution (Acts 10:34). Only God’s word can prepare us for all the aspects of life (2 Tim. 3:16,17). Only God’s word can arm us sufficiently to be able to traverse the pitfalls and dangers of life (Eph. 6:10). Ultimately, only God’s word shows us how to re-move the stain of sin (Rev. 1:5; Rom. 10:17; John 8:24; Luke 13:3; Rom. 10:10; Acts 2:38). Only God’s word unites and guides all man (1 Cor. 1:10; 15:58). And by following Him we can and will be saved (Matt. 25:30f)
